POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within the Legal & Compliance department, supporting PIMCO's proprietary compliance system. The Rule Automation Team is responsible for accurately coding and automating client, regulatory, and internal guidelines within the compliance system.

The Associate will gain broad exposure to the end-to-end Investment Guideline Compliance process and will collaborate regularly with stakeholders across Legal & Compliance, Technology, Account Management, Product Strategy and the Trade Floor.

The role sits at the intersection of investment compliance, technology, and data analytics, providing the opportunity to translate complex investment guidelines into scalable automated controls that support PIMCO's global investment platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

On a typical day, you will:

  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Technology, and business stakeholders to implement and enhance compliance rules.

  • Research and resolve inquiries related to rule functionality, implementation, and status.

  • Perform root-cause analysis of rule exceptions and system issues and recommend process improvements.

  • Support testing and quality assurance efforts related to new rule coding, system upgrades, and technology initiatives.

  • Develop subject matter expertise across investment products, compliance monitoring methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Data/Computer Science preferred).

  • 2+ years of professional experience in compliance or the investment management industry.

  • Basic knowledge of the global equity and fixed income markets, including an understanding of financial products such as bonds, equities, and derivatives.

  • Intermediate/advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.

Preferred:

  • Experience with investment compliance platforms such as Charles River, Aladdin, Sentinel or similar systems.

  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, automation initiatives, or business intelligence tools.

  • Experience with Bloomberg or querying abilities, particularly with SQL and Business Objects.

  • CFA designation or active status in the CFA program is a plus.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 87,000.00 - $ 93,000.00
