Description

Join our collaborative translational cancer research team and contribute to innovative studies aimed at advancing precision medicine. The Research Assistant will perform a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques, analyze research data, mentor undergraduate researchers, and support laboratory operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced molecular biology methods, high-throughput screening technologies, and patient-derived samples while contributing to impactful scientific discoveries.

Salary: $28.69 - $34.21 hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Skill in performing work in an accurate and thorough manner with close attention to details in all areas.
  • Ability to write legibly using correct spelling to record technical lab results and keep accurate and organized records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with mutual respect with co-workers, and other staff.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other team members to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Ability to work independently with average amount of supervision.
  • Working knowledge of tissue culture, basic chemistry, and biology Required
  • Fluency in proper sterile technique
  • Knowledge of quality control and instrument usage.
  • Ability to perform experimental calculations and analysis. Required
  • Ability to perform laboratory tasks in timely manner in a high workload environment.
  • Skill in performing work in an accurate and thorough manner with close attention to details in all areas.
Preferred:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Up to 1 year of related experience oe training
  • Ability to oversee and train the junior undergraduate lab assistants and provide guidance and instruction as needed
  • Experience working with large sets of data
  • Experience working with patient biopsy samples
  • Experience with animal and IRB protocols
