The Opportunity:

Are you passionate about helping students navigate some of their most challenging academic moments? Join the Academic Services Unit within the Office of Undergraduate Studies - a team dedicated to ensuring every Knight has the support they need to persist and succeed. In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource for students navigating complex academic processes, including late schedule changes, medical withdrawals, medical holds, and petitions. You'll play a hands-on role in guiding students through sensitive, time-critical situations - offering clear direction, compassionate support, and expert knowledge of university processes when it matters most. This role is positioned within the Registrar's Office placing you at the heart of the undergraduate student experience and in close collaboration with university departments across campus.

Responsibilities:


  • Advises and counsels students on petition eligibility, required documentation, submission procedures, and status updates.

  • Prepares student petition dossiers, ensuring all required documentation and signatures are obtained prior to committee review.

  • Processes removal of student medical holds by obtaining and reviewing required medical provider documentation; prepares medical hold summaries and dossiers for record.

  • Coordinates with other university units/departments to ensure that students obtain correct guidance and petition decisions are communicated to the appropriate departments for processing.

  • Supports the processing and archiving of student petitions, including electronic filing and records management in accordance with university standards.

  • Evaluates student situations and provides appropriate guidance; promotes awareness of campus support resources, including academic, wellness, and counseling services, and makes referrals as appropriate.

  • Supports the unit at internal and university-wide meetings as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong customer service experience in higher education, hospitality, healthcare, or general education settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Experience with accurate data entry and recordkeeping.

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 suite and PDF document management tools.

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $15.66 - $17.86 ($32,703 - $37,300 annually). The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
