Job Description

Position Summary:

Buyer is responsible for management of supplier base and is responsible for researching, developing, and improving purchasing practices for all goods purchased. Buyer will negotiate and propose agreements / contracts which will help to deliver value to company's stakeholders by ensuring service and quality, while maximizing the supplier's capabilities and reducing internal costs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Secures quotes through sourcing and negotiations from qualified suppliers of necessary materials to obtain most favorable cost terms and services to meet production plan
  • Prepare plans and temporize long term agreements and conditions
  • Through discretion and independent judgment the buyer identifies cost saving and sourcing opportunities to assure supplier adherence to cost, on-time delivery, and quality
  • Monitor and evaluate supply chain activities including controlling supplier selection
  • Initiating, evaluating and tracking supplier cost, quality, and delivery
  • Look over logistics to be sure of materials timely delivery with proper documentation
  • Develop invitations to bid and administer bidding process for use in supplier selections
  • Performs other duties as necessary

Experience & Education

Required:

  • Previous execution of LTA's with the ability to demonstrate the resulting benefits
  • Familiarity with procurement metrics and MRP systems
  • Experience with Purchase Price Variance calculations
  • Demonstrated accomplishments related to sourcing decisions

Preferred:

  • 5-7 years of progressive procurement experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Aerospace machining and secondary processing experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $90000 to $115000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
