Application Window Open date: July 1, 2026 Next review date: Thursday, Jul 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Sep 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Irvine School of Law invites applications for a full-time position as an Adjunct Clinical Law Professor, or Assistant Adjunct Clinical Law Professor, in the Environmental Law Clinic, to begin August 10, 2026, or soon thereafter. The position is based at the UC Irvine School of Law and is an in-person position. The successful candidate will join the Environmental Law Clinic ("Clinic") and will join a team of full-time, on-site staff and faculty in the Law School's renowned Clinical Program. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinic Director developing and managing the Clinic's docket and advocacy projects. Working closely with, and under the direction of the Clinic Director, the successful candidate will engage with, and be responsible for, the full range of activities associated with clinical law teaching, including: teaching and supervising second- and third-year law students in the Clinic; teaching and designing the curriculum and the clinical course seminar; meeting and consulting with prospective Clinic clients; conducting outreach and community education; and providing direct representation to ELC clients. The successful candidate's own direct representation of clients as an attorney provides continuity of representation for the Clinic's clients throughout the calendar year, including during transitions between semesters. This is a position designed for an experienced attorney with a minimum of 5 years of practical legal experience working with U.S. state and/or federal environmental and/or natural resources laws. J.D. or equivalent law degree from an American Bar Association-approved law school. A member in good standing of the State Bar of California, or a member in good standing of the Bar of another state.
