Job Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing and verifying visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical inspections for source, first article, receiving, in-process, final, and test operations. This role ensures products meet established quality standards by utilizing engineering drawings, specifications, inspection equipment, and approved procedures. The Quality Inspector maintains accurate inspection records, supports quality improvement initiatives, and promotes compliance with quality management system requirements.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical inspections on materials and products.
  • Conduct source, first article, receiving, in-process, final, and test inspections using approved procedures and specifications.
  • Review and approve inspection and test data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
  • Maintain inspection records in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • Support corrective and preventive action activities by documenting inspection findings and assisting with investigations.
  • Interface with customer or government inspection personnel as required.
  • Support and comply with the Quality Management System and applicable quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Three to five years of quality inspection experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including four-function arithmetic and statistical process control (SPC) data collection.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) preferred.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and maintain corrected vision sufficient to perform inspection duties.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform activities including standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, and fine manual dexterity as required.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification preferred.


Work Experience



  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Three to five years of quality inspection experience preferred.
