Job Summary

The Merchandiser is responsible for executing and maintaining merchandising standards across assigned customer accounts while delivering exceptional customer service. This role ensures products are properly stocked, rotated, displayed, and presented to maximize sales opportunities and maintain brand standards. The Vertical Merchandiser also supports sales initiatives, assists Account Sales Managers, monitors inventory quality, and develops strong customer relationships.

Job Responsibilities



  • Service assigned customer accounts by providing merchandising, customer service, and sales support.
  • Rotate products from back stock to shelves, displays, and cold vault locations.
  • Build and maintain permanent and temporary product displays in accordance with merchandising standards.
  • Assist Account Sales Managers with selling and building displays during route rides.
  • Perform Account Sales Manager responsibilities, including covering assigned routes, when needed.
  • Review product code dates during every account visit.
  • Remove damaged, dirty, dented, or expired products from shelves, displays, and cold vaults.
  • Notify the appropriate Account Manager of products requiring pickup, exchange, or replenishment.
  • Ensure all products are merchandised according to approved shelf schematics and merchandising standards.
  • Maintain cold equipment, racks, and point-of-sale materials in a clean and professional condition.
  • Cover assigned Account Manager routes as business needs require.
  • Monitor competitor activities, including product launches and pricing changes, and communicate findings to management.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to maximize sales opportunities and shelf space.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly sales meetings.
  • Promote and protect the company's brand through professional representation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Previous beverage industry knowledge and sales experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal vehicle available for business use with the required insurance coverage.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card required.
  • Ability to work early mornings and weekends.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Good mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage an assigned route.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience



  • Prior beverage industry knowledge and sales experience preferred.
