Job Summary

The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for facility maintenance operations while leading capital improvement, renovation, and infrastructure projects that support site growth and operational efficiency. This role manages project execution from planning through completion, coordinates contractors and cross-functional teams, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and maintains project documentation to support successful project delivery.

Job Responsibilities



  • Plan, manage, and execute facility capital improvement, renovation, and infrastructure projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project scope, timelines, costs, risks, and overall performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to prioritize and execute facility projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers performing specialized work.
  • Support facility maintenance operations by providing engineering and technical expertise.
  • Plan and oversee facility layout modifications, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Participate in change management activities, including evaluating project costs, schedules, and scope changes.
  • Maintain project documentation, including requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs), submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure facility projects comply with applicable building codes, environmental regulations, safety requirements, and industry standards.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following established environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project and operational risks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting facility maintenance, manufacturing startup, engineering, or related operations required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing infrastructure, facility improvement, or capital projects required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment installation, including electrical, compressed air, and facility preparation processes preferred.
  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure projects, engineering drawings, specifications, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to construction and facility challenges.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new operational systems and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering tools.
  • Strong planning, organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and conflict resolution skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external contractors.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting facility maintenance, manufacturing startup, engineering, or related operations required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing infrastructure, facility improvement, or capital projects required.
