This employee performs monthly vent check assessments in a timely and professional manner. They are generally responsible for thecompletion of the vent check assessment and supply order. The employee is also responsible for logging and tracking appropriatepatient/vent information.
JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Performs remote vent checks in a timely and professional manner

    • Generally responsible for completing ventchecks, logging information following the correct processes in place, and communication to the centers andRegional Healthcare Managers


  • Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy
  • Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
  • Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
  • Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports
  • Facilitates prescription collection
  • Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards

Work Experience


  • Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting or other experience in patient careRequired
  • Must complete 1 week of field training with a center RT
  • Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the homehealthcare setting or other experience in patient care
  • Level 2 - Minimum, two years of experience in home healthcare
  • Level 3 - Minimum, three years of experience in home healthcare

    • Maybe involved in training of other Healthcare Specialists




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Must have excellent human relations skills to interface with doctors, other referral sources andpatients
  • Must be computer literate


Licenses and Certifications


  • Must have completed all training/educationrequired to obtain requisite certification,registration, and/or license described below
  • Must be a clinician authorized withinhis/her scope of practice (as established byapplicable state law or if none, by theapplicable national board) to provide allpatient care services offered by Lincarefrom time to time
  • Will be required to obtain additional Statelicensing for States assigned
  • Must remain certified, registered, orlicensed by the applicable state and/ornational board governing his/her clinicalpractice or as otherwise permitted by law
