Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Specialist at UL Research Institutes. This is a remote-based opportunity.

The Senior Project Specialist plans and executes complex, multistakeholder projects that supports the Research Experiences & Education's work with classrooms and communities across the U.S. This role oversees the full project lifecycle for small to mediumsized initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with institutional priorities and quality standards.

We translate the findings of our research institutes into compelling educational materials, bringing to life scientific concepts using contemporary best education practices to create learning opportunities for a wide variety of secondary through postgraduate students. Our academic collaborations and support for the next generation of safety scientists likewise reach across the educational spectrum, including partnerships that reach out to students who are underrepresented in STEM fields.

Through all of our programs, we aim to unlock the diverse perspectives that are essential for solving the world's most pressing safety and sustainability issues.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Senior Project Specialist, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Manages project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with research goals and deadlines.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather project requirements and establish clear communication channels.

  • Coordinates and leads cross-functional project teams, assign tasks and responsibilities, and monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Fosters effective teamwork and collaboration among team members.

  • Conducts regular project status meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and addressing any issues or concerns.

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration and provide regular project status reports and updates to stakeholders, including progress, milestones, and key decisions.

  • Manages stakeholder expectations and addresses concerns or feedback.

  • Facilitates effective communication among project team members, ensuring alignment and clarity.

  • Conducts project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement.

  • Documents project outcomes, successes, and challenges for future reference.

  • Contributes to the development, editing, and publication of research documents, presentations, and other technical materials and facilitate translation to support communications and education.

  • Supports development of technical organization partnerships and outreach activities related to amplification of research as part of those partnerships.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and crossfunctional teams.
