Under general supervision, provides protective services for assigned locations, patients, visitors, and staff. Adheres to UC San Diego Health and departmental quality service standards. Patrols the UC San Diego Student Health and Well-Being Triton Building-B (THW-B) campus on foot to protect life and property. Professionally manages disruptive individuals using the minimum amount of force necessary, controls access to restricted and security-sensitive areas, responds to fire and security alarm activations, assumes scene command during emergency incidents, identifies and reports safety hazards, and provides direction and assistance to UC San Diego Health patients, visitors, staff, and other building occupants. Performs other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position as assigned. Security Agents are not sworn peace officers, are not armed, and have citizen arrest authority only. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $50,446 - $62,744 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $24.16 - $30.05 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
