Position Summary

The Scheduler plays a key role in planning and executing manufacturing facility capital projects by developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout.

Working independently on moderately complex assignments, the Scheduler performs schedule analysis, forecasting, progress reporting, and schedule updates while collaborating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client stakeholders to monitor project performance and support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of scheduling principles, is proficient with industry-standard scheduling tools, and effectively communicates schedule performance, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Organizational Responsibilties

  • Develop and maintain summary- and detailed-level project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6 throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
  • Interpret contract documents and apply scheduling requirements, project specifications, and milestone commitments to project schedules.
  • Maintain schedule integrity by ensuring accurate activity sequencing, logic, durations, calendars, constraints, and relationships.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity coding structures, schedule baselines, and resource- or cost-loaded schedules, as required.
  • Gather, validate, and incorporate schedule updates from project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Monitor progress against approved baselines and key milestones by identifying schedule variances, critical path activities, and potential impacts to project delivery.
  • Perform schedule analysis, forecasting, schedule quality reviews, and basic Time Impact Analyses (TIA) and what-if scenario evaluations, as applicable.
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, narratives, performance metrics, and other scheduling deliverables for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Analyze scheduling data to support project reporting, forecasting, progress reviews, and project meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives to validate schedule information, communicate project changes, and support successful project execution.
  • Continue developing knowledge of scheduling principles, PMA scheduling standards, industry best practices, and earned value management (EVM) concepts.
  • Apply feedback from senior schedulers to improve schedule quality, forecasting, reporting, and overall project support.
  • Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective problem-solving while managing multiple priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of scheduling, project controls, project planning, or related experience supporting engineering, construction, manufacturing, industrial, or other capital projects.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and other project scheduling tools.
  • Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles, schedule development, forecasting, reporting, and earned value management (EVM) principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related technical or quantitative field required.
  • A Master's degree in a related field may be considered as part of the candidate's overall qualifications and relevant professional experience.

The salary range for this position is $84,244 - $126,347.

A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual's scope of relevant experience and geographic location.

Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
