What You'll Do



Summary/Objective:

The Senior Business Continuity Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and governance of the organization's business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) programs. This role ensures the organization maintains effective resilience capabilities in alignment with regulatory expectations, risk appetite, and organizational priorities.

The Senior Specialist operates independently on complex assignments, providing guidance to business units, supporting resilience planning and testing, and delivering insights on risks, gaps, and program effectiveness. This role contributes to strengthening enterprise resilience through governance, analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Support execution and enhancement of the enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery programs, including policies, standards, and governance practices
  • Conduct and support business impact assessments (BIAs) and risk assessments, including threat, hazard, and resilience evaluations for business units and third parties
  • Partner with business units to develop and maintain business continuity plans (BCPs) and disaster recovery strategies
  • Facilitate and support testing and exercises, including scenario-based simulations and recovery validation activities
  • Monitor and support response to business disruption events, including tracking, reporting, and participation in crisis management activities
  • Support development of resilience reporting, metrics, and dashboards, providing insights on program effectiveness and emerging risks
  • Identify and assess control gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and support remediation tracking and validation
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on business continuity best practices and regulatory expectations
  • Support coordination of regulatory exams, audits, and reviews, including documentation and response activities
  • Contribute to maintenance of program documentation, procedures, and standards
  • Analyze data and trends to identify emerging risks and resilience vulnerabilities
  • Support continuous improvement of BC/DR processes, tools, and methodologies

Resolves difficult and complex problems using judgment and analysis; contributes to problem solving in collaborative settings. Interprets policies and adapts them to new situations.
  • Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods to solve problems that have cross-functional impacts or require balancing competing priorities. Applies advanced knowledge of job area with experienced understanding of functional area.
  • Typically receives little instruction on daily work. Works independently within defined specialties; adapts methods and procedures for routine work with minimal oversight. Accountable for deliverables. May mentor others and coach or review their work.



What You'll Need



Education & Experience:



  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in field relevant to role (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Required Experience: 4 - 6 years of relevant experience



Qualifications & Skills:



  • Strong knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks and practices
  • Understanding of operational resilience, crisis management, and risk assessment methodologies
  • Experience supporting BIAs, continuity planning, and testing programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess risks and controls
  • Ability to communicate effectively across business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience with BC/DR tools (e.g., Fusion, ServiceNow, BC in the Cloud) preferred
  • Experience with incident notification tools (e.g., Everbridge, AlertMedia) preferred

    Expected Pay Range

    $93,000 - $111,000
