Department Information

Motivated by the societal impacts of rapidly advancing technology and the imperative to enhance civic education and engagement, Georgia Tech has launched an Institute for Technology and Civic Leadership (ITCL). This new institute aspires to be a pioneering academic and public-facing unit that prepares students and faculty to lead in a democratic society and contribute to solving the complex technological and societal challenges of our time.

The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts comprises Georgia Tech's three Reserve Officers' Training Corps units (Air Force, Army, and Navy), six schools (Economics; History and Sociology; Literature, Media, and Communication; Modern Languages; Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy; and the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs), and two centers (Center for Advanced Communications Policy and Writing and Communication Program).

Job Summary

The Program Ops Director will manage the day-to-day operations of advancing, supporting, and evaluating activities that support and further strategic initiatives for a college/unit. As an individual contributor, this position will serve as a strategic partner, implementation lead, and primary point of contact for multiple activities and/or initiatives as assigned. This position will design and execute comprehensive implementation plans to achieve strategic goals.

This position will interact on a regular basis: GT employees and colleagues, and public organizations/groups

This position typically will advise and counsel: Employees, Students, and internal and external collaborators and partners

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Plan, manage, and execute events, initiatives, and programs.

Job Duty 2 -
Lead strategic development, implementation, and expansion of multiple initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with college/unit strategic goals

Job Duty 3 -
Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Duty 4 -
Evaluate effectiveness of events, initiatives, and programs utilizing data and feedback to propose modifications and enhancements to achieve high-impact outcomes

Job Duty 5 -
Develop and disseminate key messages and marketing materials for internal and external audiences in collaboration with communications team

Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate with stakeholders to determine necessary resources and measure engagement, success, and outcomes

Job Duty 7 -
Oversee coordination and deliver direct logistical and operational support for college/unit events, initiatives, and programs in collaboration with internal and external partners

Job Duty 8 -
Develop, administer, and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing impact

Job Duty 9 -
Define assessment goals and oversee reporting to highlight success, garner input, and propose recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders

Job Duty 10 -
May supervise direct reports, such as student assistants and/or temporary employees, and manage vendors, volunteers, and other support staff to meet the needs of large-scale events, initiatives, and programs

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree

Preferred Experience
Supervisory or managerial experience a plus.

Preferred experience includes but is not limited to administering programming, knowledge of the University environment or higher education, general administrative functions, and complex meeting and event planning.

ABILITIES
Specialized abilities required for this job include an ability to analyze and translate metrics. Exceptional leadership, project management and presentation skills. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office related computer applications. Ability to work independently and manage multiple commitments. Ability to communicate among constituencies, with a strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledgeable on current high-impact practices in higher education. Demonstrated knowledge of representing and conveying the college/unit mission and helping meet its goals. Must be able to participate in relevant professional development activities as outlined by leadership. Knowledge and expertise in operations planning.

SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication, and customer service skills. Skilled at aggregating and analyzing data. Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills. A must have mindset that includes initiative, independent judgement, teamwork, problem solving.

Anticipated salary range is $78,000 to $88,000. Salary will be determined commensurate with qualifications.
