Description Job Title: Senior Satellite Systems I&T Engineer Location: Onsite at Merritt Island, FL (they will consider remote for exceptional candidate) Employment Type: 9+ month contract, possible contract-to-direct (for those willing to work at Merritt Island) Industry: Aerospace/Space Compensation: $84.50/hr - $92.75/hr Schedule: M-F days About the Opportunity: We are looking for an experienced Senior Satellite Systems I&T Engineer to support the functional verification and validation activity for aerospace projects. We're looking for candidates who can bring exceptional engineering skills and strong test experience in aerospace programs to the team. The Senior Satellite Systems I&T Engineer's primary responsibility will be to support satellite functional verification and validation activity. In this role, the engineer will map technical requirements to verification and validation strategies that ensure product quality, develop test plans and test procedures, and execute and report the test results. What You'll Do: Satellite Functional Verification and Validation 70% Review the satellite functional specification and develop the test plan to verify and validate the requirements. Design and build automated testing systems, tooling and/or ground support equipment (GSE) to optimize production and test workflow. Execute and validate test documentation and equipment, then train others to run validated procedures/equipment. Troubleshoot issues with hardware and/or equipment, collect and analyze test data, and write/review test reports, flags/non-conformances and other documentation, as required. Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of engineering and integration activities. Satellite System Architecture Development 30% Support system architecture trade studies and requirements development to meet mission needs. Revise the satellite functional specification for new mission and customer needs. Generate system architecture data products, including spacecraft CONOPS, algorithm descriptions, and interface documents. Job Requirements What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field Min 9 years of aerospace experience Min 5 years of experience in satellite operation, system engineering, integration and testing that includes: Familiar with satellite operation, and any subsystem engineering (Guidance, Navigation, Control, Power system, Data Handling, and Software). Familiar with product and quality assurance principles and experienced in generation and disposition of test flags and non-conformance documentation. Min 2 years of experience with the full Space mission lifecycle, including requirements development, design, manufacturing, test, and mission operations.
