About the Opportunity:
- The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks to support the financial integrity of the organization.
- This role, using QuickBooks Desktop, maintains accurate general ledger entries, processes payroll, supports accounts payable and receivable functions, prepares monthly and annual financial reports, and assists with audits and tax filings.
- The Bookkeeper ensures all financial practices comply with company policies and accepted accounting standards and guides management by supplying accurate and timely financial data.

What You'll Do:
- Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly closings.
- Prepare monthly financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss statements.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Process payroll and prepare payroll-related reports through QuickBooks Desktop.
- Manage accounts receivable collections and accounts payable processing.
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly and address any discrepancies or inquiries.
- Allocate expenditures to appropriate accounts and departments.
- Prepare and file tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Provide supporting documentation and respond to inquiries during audits.
- Maintain purchasing and invoicing systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with software vendors for accounting software maintenance and recommend system improvements.
- Generate summary sheets and financial data reports for internal use or audits.
- Ensure reports are accurate and clerically sound.
- Maintain compliance with internal accounting procedures and GAAP standards.
- Organize and archive financial records and supporting documentation, including preparing year-end files for storage.
- Other various duties as needed or assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and tax filing procedures.
What Sets You Apart:
- Experience supporting external audits and year-end close processes.
- Familiarity with inventory cost accounting and job costing in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with advanced accounting systems or ERP platforms.
- Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software.
- Excellent understanding of bookkeeping procedures and accounting principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
Additional Information:
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files).
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
- Visual acuity to review and enter financial data accurately.
