Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an M&A associate with 4-8 years of relevant experience to join the Transactions Practice Group in any of our U.S. offices. Foley's nationally integrated Transactions Practice Group advises publicly and privately held middle market and upper middle market companies, private equity sponsors, and other investors on a broad range of strategic transactions. This role is focused primarily on U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, with a significant emphasis on private equity-driven transactions. The position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-profile matters as part of a collaborative national platform, partnering closely with attorneys across offices and practice disciplines to deliver practical business solutions for clients.

Qualified candidates will have substantial experience representing clients in complex corporate M&A transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and related strategic transactions. Candidates should possess strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, along with experience managing multiple workstreams and interacting directly with clients, opposing counsel, and deal teams throughout the transaction lifecycle. An interest in business development and building long-term client relationships is also valued.

Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and be active members in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located will be required as a condition of employment.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $290,000 - $420,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
