TITLE: Sr. R&D Technician


POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Sr. R&D Technician supports laboratory operations and product and process development activities through testing, data collection, and collaboration with internal and external teams. This role is designed to develop foundational technical skills in film testing, material evaluation, and reporting. The R&D Technician follows established procedures, maintains strong attention to detail, and actively learns from team members while contributing to a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • MS Office suite of products proficiency required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong problem resolution skills and ability to assess when an issue must be escalated to the next level.
  • MUST be detail-oriented, highly organized and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.


  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Learn and apply standard film property testing methods with guidance from senior team members.
  • Perform stretch film testing to evaluate product performance and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assist in conducting stretch film and recipe audits to support consistency and quality control.
  • Perform basic raw material testing to assess quality and suitability for use.
  • Support specialized testing in accordance with ASTM methods and other industry standards.
  • Assist in the development and execution of application testing as needed.
  • Collaborate with external partners to gain exposure to specialized film testing equipment and methods.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring proper organization and readiness for use.
  • Accurately record and input trial and testing data into designated systems.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports summarizing test results and observations.

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
  • Subject to noise
