However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. Work Schedule
Shifts are generally scheduled during evening and weekend hours, including weekdays after 5:00 PM and weekends. Specific schedules will be determined based on Print Lab operational needs and staff availability.


Pay Rate $16-$20/hour (based on experience)
Minimum Experience/Education
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Experience in print production, copy services, digital printing, document services, information technology support, manufacturing operations, or a related technical field is preferred.


Candidates should possess:



  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to learn and operate production print equipment and related software systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in a fast-paced production environment.



Experience with digital print workflows, production printers, finishing equipment, or customer-facing technical support is highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
Seeking a Print Lab Shift Supervisor to provide evening and weekend support for the Print Lab. This position serves as the primary on-site resource during off-hours, monitoring print production activities, responding to operational issues, and helping ensure continuity of service when full-time staff are unavailable.


Primary responsibilities include:



  • Monitoring print lab operations during assigned evening and weekend shifts.
  • Performing basic troubleshooting and corrective actions on digital print equipment, finishing equipment, and workflow systems.
  • Identifying, documenting, and resolving routine production issues before escalation when possible.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for operational concerns and emergencies during off-hours.
  • Communicating equipment malfunctions, workflow disruptions, and service-impacting issues to Print Lab leadership according to established escalation procedures.
  • Monitoring production queues and assisting with the completion of scheduled print jobs.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and organized production environment.
  • Recording operational activities, incidents, and service interruptions for review by management.


Other Work/Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities include assisting with equipment startups and shutdowns, monitoring supplies and inventory levels, supporting quality control efforts, and coordinating with campus customers or approved vendors as needed during assigned shifts.


The Print Lab Shift Supervisor serves as the "eyes and ears" of the Print Lab during evenings and weekends and is expected to exercise sound judgment when responding to operational issues. Evening and weekend work is required. The position reports to the Print Lab Manager or other designated Supervisor.
