Metronome is seeking an experienced Systems Architect to support fully cleared, mission-critical programs across DoD and Intelligence Community environments. This role will be responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing secure enterprise architectures that support high-performance mission systems, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and modern software delivery environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, cloud architecture, infrastructure modernization, and cross-domain integration within classified environments. This position requires the ability to bridge technical strategy with execution, working across software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams to build scalable, secure, and resilient solutions for national security missions. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and architect end-to-end system solutions across classified cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments. Develop scalable architecture frameworks that support software applications, data pipelines, APIs, and mission systems. Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, including cloud migrations, containerization, and platform engineering initiatives. Define system interfaces, integration patterns, and data flows across multi-domain environments. Collaborate with software engineers, DevSecOps teams, data engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure architecture alignment. Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve performance, scalability, and security. Support system design reviews, technical roadmaps, and architecture decision documentation. Ensure solutions comply with DoD and IC security standards, including RMF, Zero Trust, and secure-by-design principles. Guide implementation of automation, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and container orchestration platforms. Assist with troubleshooting complex system integration issues and performance bottlenecks. Support proposal efforts, technical planning, and capability development for emerging mission requirements. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, or enterprise infrastructure design. Experience supporting DoD, IC, or other high-side classified environments. Strong understanding of: Distributed systems architecture Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure Gov, or similar) Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) Enterprise networking and secure communications System scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance Experience designing and integrating secure solutions in TS/SCI or higher environments. Working knowledge of: RMF / NIST 800-53 DISA STIGs Identity and Access Management (IAM) Cross-domain solutions (CDS) | |
