Job Description

The Engineering Tech II shall monitor and inspect buildings, associated building components, and infrastructure for life-cycle management. The Engineering Technician II shall submit and track, from initiation-to-completion service orders and work orders, perform various inspections utilizing various prescribed checklists, and assist with supplemental cleaning and associated tasks as applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Conducts various tasks to include the inspection of life, health & safety equipment including fire extinguishers, Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) & AED Pads (Expiration Date), and Eye Wash Stations
* Conducts comprehensive building inspections
* Serves as the Fire Monitor in all DEVCOM-CBC buildings to resolve deficiencies identified by the APG Garrison Fire Department (APG FD) Fire Chief as well as works directly with APG FD Fire Inspector
* Monitors areas for restocking and resupply
* Coordinates with Project Engineer to assist with project support and contactor escorting
* Performs snow removal and spill cleanup as needed
* Supports after-hours emergency response to weather or facility-related issues with 24-hour coverage to include off hours, weekends, and holidays ("On-Call")
* Provides emergency response for floods, mold remediation, bodily fluid clean-up, and general housekeeping
* Follows all internal & external procedures
* Monitors and polices the surrounding exterior grounds up to 50 feet from the building
* Works with and assists building occupants to identify and resolve concerns
* Assists in the neat and presentable appearance of facilities to the customer
* Follows directions from the Contractor Supervisor and COR while working independently and as a team
* Supports customer schedules in scheduling repairs and annual requirements
* Maintains records for accountability and to audit standards
* Delivers excellent customer service both to internal and external customers while working collaboratively to build professional relationships (i.e., personnel, customers, etc.)
* Identifies safety concerns to the Supervisor and other required stakeholders (DOD, ARMY, OSHA, ANSI, other industries identified)
* Assists in maintaining accurate files and provides documentation to the COR when requested
* Provides and assists with the required monthly data to the Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix of all related matters
* Ensures all administrative functions/paperwork are in order relative to receipt documentation, work orders, or internal paperwork and are accomplished on time and in the required format.
* Maintains a clean and safe worksite while performing or conducting job duties and is attentive to detail
* Supports the mission, vision, values, and goals of the US ARMY
* Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in related field, one (1) year or more of facility management experience, and possession of an active Class C Driver's License
or
* High School Diploma, five (5) years or more of facility management experience, possession of an active IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certification, and an active Class C Driver's License
or
* High School Diploma, ten (10) or more years of commercial or industrial facility management experience, and possession of an active Class C Driver's License

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The work of this position is performed in both an environmentally controlled office interiors and building settings and sometimes performed outdoors where you are subject to the environment
* This position is primarily mobile while walking throughout numerous buildings, office settings, labs, and outdoor emergency response, building monitoring and inspections
* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and work in both bending and standing positions for extended periods of time and all types of weather

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
* Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain securityclearance for the duration of employment.

Rate of Pay/Benefits

$25.72/hour
