ROLE SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Commercial Operations (Diagnostics & Lab Services) is responsible for setting the strategic direction, operating rhythm, and commercial infrastructure for both the Diagnostics Business Unit and Lab Services. This role partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to scale commercial capabilities, strengthen revenue operations, optimize pricing and profitability, and ensure data-driven decision-making across sales, marketing, finance, product, operations, and laboratory services teams. As a senior leader, this position drives enterprise-level initiatives that improve commercial effectiveness, align priorities across business units, accelerate revenue growth, and support long-term business performance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
1. Commercial Strategy & Execution


  • Define and lead enterprise-level commercial operations strategies that accelerate revenue growth, market expansion, and scalable execution across the Diagnostics Business Unit and Lab Services
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, translating business priorities into measurable commercial operating plans
  • Evaluate new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, service offerings, and revenue streams with a focus on long-term growth and profitability across diagnostics and lab-based services


2. Sales & Revenue Operations


  • Establish the commercial operating cadence for forecasting, pipeline governance, performance management, and executive reporting
  • Architect and continuously improve sales processes, tools, KPIs, and governance models that support scale and accountability
  • Partner with sales leadership to improve productivity, conversion, territory effectiveness, and resource allocation


3. Pricing & Profitability


  • Own pricing strategy, discount governance, margin management, and commercial deal frameworks for diagnostics products, testing services, and lab-based offerings
  • Lead advanced profitability analysis across products, customer segments, channels, and strategic accounts
  • Develop pricing models and governance recommendations informed by market dynamics, competitive positioning, and financial performance


4. Data & Analytics


  • Set the vision for commercial reporting, analytics, dashboards, and performance insights used by senior leadership
  • Translate data insights into strategic recommendations that identify growth opportunities, risks, and operational priorities
  • Establish governance to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across CRM, business intelligence, and commercial systems


5. Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Lead cross-functional alignment across sales, marketing, finance, product, customer success, operations, and Lab Services to execute commercial priorities for both supported business areas
  • Drive alignment of go-to-market strategies, campaign effectiveness, launch readiness, and commercial performance objectives
  • Provide senior commercial operations leadership for product launches, service commercialization, capacity planning inputs, and lifecycle growth initiatives


6. Process Improvement & Systems


  • Evaluate, select, and govern commercial technology platforms, including CRM, sales enablement, forecasting, and analytics tools
  • Lead process transformation efforts that simplify workflows, improve scalability, and reduce operational friction across the commercial organization
  • Sponsor change management initiatives that drive adoption, accountability, and sustained operational improvements


7. Team Leadership


  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing commercial operations function with clear priorities, capabilities, and succession depth
  • Set strategic goals, establish accountability mechanisms, and provide coaching to managers and individual contributors
  • Cultivate a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, sales operations, revenue operations, business strategy, or related leadership roles, including experience supporting diagnostics, lab services, life sciences, healthcare, or similarly regulated markets
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers, senior professionals, or cross-functional teams


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and operational efficiency
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data tools (e.g., CRM, BI platforms)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
