Lockbox / Remittance Processing Supervisor

Description

This position will supervise a portion of the Lockbox staff within our Bank Operations group. This department is responsible for processing account receivable transactions for commercial customers. Items must be sorted into categories predefined by the customer, scanned into our imaging application, keyed, balanced, and finalized. This position will be responsible for scheduling, planning and defining the daily department workflow to ensure all necessary tasks are completed timely in a deadline-driven environment. This person is also responsible for the quality of the work performed, maintained through periodic quality control reviews and staff development. This position may also be required to perform production-related tasks as needed.

This position is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM till finish (normally by 2:00 PM). The first business day after a holiday is required. Mondays and the first business day after holidays normally exceed 10 hours. Remittance Processing handles the remittance for over 200 clients and is considered a critical operations team. Employees are required to report to work during inclement weather or other situations when other departments may be closed.

Position Requirements:



  • 3 to 5 years of lockbox/remittance processing experience preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a team environment where responsibilities rotate and cross-training is required
  • Consistently perform in a high-volume environment where workload fluctuates, but deadlines stay the same and service levels must be met
  • Effective and efficient communication skills, both by phone and email, with internal customers and business partners
  • Strong work ethic, sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to appropriately escalate issues or concerns
  • Self-motivated and able to complete assigned tasks independently
  • Proficiency with standard computer software, including MS Outlook and MS Excel, with the ability to quickly learn job-specific systems and web-based applications
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned by management



In addition, the position is expected to read, reference, and interpret written departmental procedures, cross train staff on department tasks, make suggestions to correct or enhance existing processes, and take advantage of available opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of applicable regulations, operational compliance, and the banking industry to support career development and growth.
