The Director of Corporate Communications is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing implementation of a wide range of corporate communications strategies for UVA Health, inclusive of the UVA School of Medicine and the Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Communication, the Director will oversee three communications portfolios including PR/Media Relations, Executive Communications/Thought Leadership and Communications Strategy for the Manning Institute. The successful candidate will possess command of many communications specialty areas including writing and editing, narrative development, story-pitching, crisis communications, and executive communications/presentations across all forms of media. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally skilled at understanding how to capture and reflect distinct leadership voices, effectively plan and execute strategic initiatives and leverage corporate communications channels to inform and engage each of the 18,000+ team members across the health system as well as external stakeholder audiences. They will have the desire to establish a foundation of excellence and a proven record of exceeding goals, both qualitatively and quantitatively. This position currently has four direct reports and the team continues to expand. What You Will Do:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: 8+ years relevant professional experience, to include 3+ years of formal managerial experience required. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The pay range for this role is $109,147.00 - $218,293.00 annually.
