Title Underwriter Counsel

Our client a nationally prominent title insurance group with deep roots in commercial real estate transactions across the country, is looking to add a Title Underwriting Counsel to their commercial team in the DC area.

This is a strong fit for a real estate attorney with a title underwriting background who wants to work on sophisticated commercial deals with the backing of a well-resourced, industry-leading organization. Candidates in Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review and authorize title insurance commitments and policies, providing counsel to both internal teams and external clients throughout the process
• Apply underwriting standards within your delegated authority to evaluate and approve title insurance on commercial transaction
• Support company personnel on real estate settlement matters, offering practical guidance rooted in underwriting expertise
• Develop and communicate underwriting guidelines that align with company policy and established procedure
