We're currently looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this key role, you'll help ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while supporting the company's multi-state tax operations. You'll leverage your tax expertise to analyze complex tax matters, improve processes, support audits, and provide guidance across the organization.

What You'll Do:



  • Prepare, review, and analyze tax data to support accurate and timely tax filings and payments
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
  • Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations on taxability, compliance, and process improvements
  • Maintain and review sales and use tax treatment across multiple states and product lines
  • Prepare account reciliations and analyze tax-related general ledger accounts
  • Support sales tax, income tax, property tax, and financial statement audits
  • Review and respond to tax notices from federal, state, and local taxing authorities
  • Manage business licenses, annual reports, and other regulatory filings
  • Assist with federal income tax workpapers, provisions, apportionment calculations, and special tax projects
  • Analyze tax data to identify compliance risks, tax savings opportunities, and operational efficiencies
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve tax-related issues and provide guidance on tax compliance
  • Support ERP tax mapping, exemption management, and tax system maintenance
  • Assist with developing and improving tax processes, internal controls, and documentation
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers regarding tax-related inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned to help drive Pomp's "Tire Professional's" Core Values



What You Need:



  • Bacherlor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA certification required or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred
  • Five (5) + years of progressive corporate tax or public accounting experience, with multi-state tax experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including sales and use tax, property tax, and income tax compliance
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tax filings, reconciliations, tax provisions, and supporting audit activities
  • Proven ability to research complex tax issues, interpret tax laws, and recommend practical business solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions
  • Experience working with ERP systems and tax software in a multi-entity or multi-state environment preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and provide guidance on tax-related matters
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential financial information
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift, push, or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to routinely use standard office equipment including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
