Salary: $58.82-65.36 Hourly up to $65.36/hr The Operations Specialist acts as a vital bridge between the Growth Marketing team and Production and Engineering partners. Instead of building front-end marketing journeys day-to-day, this technical systems thinker manages platform configuration data, supports backend automated pipeline management, and serves as a relentless advocate for marketing usability improvements. If you understand development principles but prefer to apply that knowledge from a strategic marketing perspective-ensuring enterprise automation tools operate flawlessly-this role is for you.

Core Responsibilities:
- Technical Translation & Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between Marketing, Mercury Production, and Engineering. Translate complex marketing use cases into technical platform requirements and vice versa.
- Platform & Pipeline Governance: Support backend platform setup, data configuration, and downstream pipeline management. Work with data engineers to validate data mapping and identify ETL or sync issues.
- Usability Advocacy: Continuous assessment of internal platform tooling. Proactively identify operational gaps, features, and workflow bottlenecks to advocate for scalability and interface improvements.
- Operational Knowledge Cultivation: Document platform architectures and build comprehensive playbooks/SOPs that empower execution teams to leverage tooling seamlessly.
- System Integrity Monitoring: Monitor data accuracy, campaign orchestration flows, and overall platform health to prevent downstream execution anomalies.

- A Systems Thinker: Manages data schemas, backend platform setup, and pipeline data.
- An Automation Architect: Highly comfortable working within the technical configuration panels of automation platforms.
- A Usability Advocate: Pushes engineering and production teams for better UI, features, and platform tools.
- A Technical Liaison: Successfully bridges the communication gap between Marketing and Engineering teams.
What This Role IS NOT:
- A Journey Builder: Does not spend the day dragging-and-dropping routine email or push execution sequences.
- A Developer: No coding, Apex development, Javascript, or setting up deployment repositories required.
- A Content Creator: Does not design creative templates, write copy, or manage assets.
- An End-User Operator: Is not responsible for executing the day-to-day deployment schedules.
Key Qualifications:
- 5-7 Years of Experience in marketing operations, platform engineering support, or lifecycle systems management.
- Deep System Familiarity: Highly comfortable navigating the technical backend of enterprise automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, or Oracle Responsys).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to understand data logic, APIs, and data infrastructure layout without being a professional coder. Strong data analysis/SQL querying proficiency is highly preferred.
- Cross-Functional Mastery: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with software and data engineers, standing your ground on data requirements while respecting engineering constraints.
- Attention to Detail: Bulletproof execution mindset when dealing with mass-scale customer data schemas and platform integrations.
- Thrives in Ambiguity: Ability to map out clear operational procedures from unrefined, complex technical requirements.
Education
- BA/BS preferred, or equivalent practical work experience.
