Position Summary

We are seeking a business development manager for our electrical motor services division. This position can work remotely from any location in TX, OK or AR. You must have strong technical sales experience with rotating equipment. Ideally, we are seeking an electrical engineer with rotating equipment or reliability engineering in the O&G or Pulp & Paper Industry with strong customer facing skills.

The successful candidate is an energetic, highly motivated sales professional with a strong hunter mentality and passion for building relationships. They are known for their positive attitude, sense of urgency, and ability to influence others to act. This individual is comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with Territory Account Managers, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders. They thrive in industrial environments, present professionally with customers, and have a natural ability to connect with people at all levels of an organization. Most importantly, they are driven to win, create opportunities where others see obstacles, and consistently deliver results.



Responsibilities

    • The primary role of this position will be to provide business development, from identifying and targeting key customers through validation of opportunities within energy and industrial sectors, leading to proposals and successful closing of work.
    • Strong technical acumen related to electric motor repair, rotating equipment, predictive maintenance, and reliability-centered solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence customer spending decisions and expand market share within existing and prospective accounts.
    • Proven ability to build rapport and establish trusted advisor relationships with customers, Territory Account Managers, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders.
    • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, positive attitude, and track record of driving results in competitive industrial markets.
    • Ability to identify, create, and convert opportunities that increase motor services revenue and overall share of customer wallet.
    • Identify, develop, and implement market and business development strategies and supporting tactical plans.
    • Qualify prospective sales opportunities to determine which opportunities to pursue.
    • Support our key marketing activities such as road shows, national conferences, tradeshows, sales trainings, and trade organizations.
    • Perform job walks and assist in the preparation of estimates, sales proposals, and sales presentations.
    • Visit account(s) on a regular basis to maintain a "strategic relationship" status.
    • Support sales processes, entering and managing sales activity within CRM, securing purchase orders, terms and conditions, and maintaining customer relations.


Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree is desired but not required.
    • 7+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience, preferably in an engineering, heavy industrial market. Preference given to candidates with a successful sales track selling electrical equipment or motor repair and services or experience selling VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) or industrial motor controls to O&G or Pulp & Paper or an electrical engineer with rotating equipment or reliability engineering in the O&G or Pulp & Paper Industry who possesses strong client facing skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and highly motivated.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, written and oral presentation skills and solid understanding of profitability and other financial measurements.
    • Strong sales skills including effective negotiating skills, ability to successfully interact with key customer decision makers and influencers, and ability to prospect new customers and forecast future business.
    • Must be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.
    • Required overnight travel up to 75% of the time.
    • Advanced computer skills with the following software: Excel, Word, Adobe, Microsoft Outlook.
    • Proficiency with CRM and lead software like Salesforce and Industrial Info Resources.
