The impact you'll make

In the Senior Supply Chain Business Manager role, you will be responsible for systematically improving supplier business processes to achieve optimal operational performance. You will develop action plans for supplier operational improvements and monitor their progress by holding suppliers accountable, while defining metrics and tracking performance against KPIs to ensure continuous improvement.You will regularly evaluate quality, set performance benchmarks, and assess the risks associated with preferred supply base selection. This is a high-visibility role with a need for regular executive communication.

What you'll do
  • Work with supplier planning, quality, and manufacturing leads to audit business processes that support the flow of material and information.
  • Develop improvement opportunities for supplier processes with a clear action plan.
  • Responsible for program managing the progress of multiple improvement projects at suppliers.
  • Clearly communicate supplier health and actions taken to mitigate any potential delivery risks in multiple forums with the executive team.
  • Work continuously on process improvement to deploy and develop best-known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., consignment, JIT, Kanban, min/max), and manufacturing strategies.
  • Initiate and coordinate early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new product parts design.
  • Use the suppliers' expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability.
  • Establish goals with suppliers to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand.
  • Serve as the point of contact for escalations to resolve shortages.
  • Represent supplier business management on cross-functional commodity teams that focus on supply challenges.
  • Ensure internal and external customer needs are satisfied.
  • Partner with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex problems.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of critical material to support customer and company requirements.
  • Develop presentations, white papers, and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.
Who we're looking for
  • A minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Material Science, Business, or a related technical discipline; or 8 years of experience with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of operational processes and interdependencies.
  • Ability to understand manufacturing and business processes and develop improvement plans to achieve optimal operational performance.
  • Solid data analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into action plans.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization, including executives.
  • Previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, or operations management.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

  • Outstanding organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
