The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all sales and revenue generation efforts for the Seattle Airport Marriott, a 462-room full-service Marriott hotel. This position develops and executes strategic sales initiatives that maximize occupancy, ADR, market share, and profitability, with a primary focus on Business Transient (BT), Airline Crew, Corporate, and Government business segments. While maintaining a healthy group base, the Director of Sales will drive revenue through market penetration, account development, and strong relationships within the airline and corporate travel sectors.
The Director of Sales serves as a key member of the Executive Committee and works closely with Revenue Management, Operations, and Marriott Global Sales to ensure achievement of all revenue and guest satisfaction goals.

Essential Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales and Events team to achieve revenue goals and market share objectives.
* Establish annual sales strategies, account plans, and action plans aligned with ownership and Marriott objectives.
* Drive a proactive sales culture focused on prospecting, account growth, and customer retention.
* Conduct regular sales meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
Business Development
* Maintain and grow key Business Transient, Airline Crew, Corporate, and Government accounts.
* Develop relationships with airline procurement teams, crew housing coordinators, travel managers, and corporate travel buyers.
* Identify new revenue opportunities within the airport, airline, and regional corporate markets.
* Represent the hotel at industry events, networking functions, and customer engagements.
Revenue Strategy
* Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory, and market segmentation strategies.
* Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and demand patterns to maximize revenue performance.
* Participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings and forecasting sessions.
* Utilize data and analytics to drive account production and profitability.
Marriott Systems & Brand Compliance
* Maintain expert-level proficiency with Marriott sales systems and tools.
* Utilize Marriott's C.I.T.Y. platform to manage account activity, opportunities, lead generation, and customer engagement.
* Leverage Marriott PMS systems and reporting tools to support sales initiatives and business analysis.
* Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, sales processes, and reporting requirements.
Reporting & Financial Management
* Prepare monthly sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews.
* Monitor pace, booking trends, and market share performance.
* Collaborate with hotel leadership to develop annual budgets and strategic business plans.
* Manage departmental expenses within budget guidelines.
Customer Relationship Management
* Maintain strong relationships with key clients, airline partners, Marriott Global Sales representatives, and local business organizations.
* Conduct regular client visits, site inspections, and customer appreciation events.
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications
Required
* Minimum 5 years of hotel sales leadership experience in a full-service hotel environment.
* Proven track record of achieving revenue and market share goals.
* Strong understanding of Business Transient, Corporate, and Airline Crew business segments.
* Experience managing large-volume corporate accounts and negotiated rate programs.
* Knowledge of Marriott sales processes and brand standards.
* Proficiency with Marriott C.I.T.Y.
* Experience utilizing Marriott PMS systems and related reporting tools.
* Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze trends, forecasts, and performance metrics.
* Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead through influence.
Preferred
* Previous Marriott-branded hotel experience.
* Experience in an airport hotel environment.
* Established relationships within airline crew housing and airline procurement sectors.
* Experience with Marriott Global Sales and national account programs.
* Familiarity with ProfitSword reporting and business intelligence tools.
* Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
