The Safety Analyst will assist the Safety Director in coordinating common safety management system elements and practices among the US Utilities safety organizations (AES Indiana T&D, AES Ohio T&D, and AES Indiana Generation [thermal and renewables]). This person will assist the teams in the implementation of the Safety Management System through the deployment of written programs, training materials, and use of digital EHS tools. Under general guidance of the US Utilities Safety Director, this person will be responsible for specific assignments involving moderately complex issues related to the day-to-day administrative management of Safety Management Systems. Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field.
- 3-5 years experience in a safety-related field.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and IOSHA regulatory frameworks.
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications, Excel, and Power Point.
- Results oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervision.
Preferred
- Experience in multi-site accountability.
- Professional Certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM.
- Experienced with ISO 45001.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver safety orientation and training programs based on business needs as informed by US Utilities safety specialists at AES Ohio and AES Indiana. Materials will be developed based on the specific needs of each location and utilizing common elements based on regulatory requirements and AES Company Standards.
- Develop, organize and implement informational and safety skills training, presentations and programs, course materials and manuals, including audio visual materials based on identified needs and requirements.
- Track and report on progress to the US Utilities Safety Director related to US Utility businesses' status with AES standard requirements (auditing, maintaining programs, training status, timely data submittal).
- Work with AES Indiana and AES Ohio safety specialists in maintaining and updating US Utilities' written safety programs.
- Support the US Utilities Director in maintaining compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards, and other requirements adopted by the business.
- Coordinate US Utility efforts to maintain and continually improve the Safety Management System, control of documents and Proactive Safety Programs.
- Gather data and metrics as needed to monitor the status of Incident Management Program per OSHA and AES Standards.
- Conduct SIP Incident Investigation using TapRoot or other RCA Methodology
- Gather and compile US Utility safety metrics and data as requested for routine and ad hoc safety reports.
- Support planning and execution of US Utilities Safety Day.
- Closely collaborate with the AES EHS Center of Expertise on behalf of US Utilities in the development and implementation of Standards and digital EHS tools.
