Description
The Human Resources Generalist assists the Employee Relations Manager with employee relation matters with a focus on ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and regulations across our multi-state organization. This role conducts comprehensive investigations of workforce conflicts and grievances, supports employee training and development and the full employee life cycle. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work with all levels of management to mentor and coach through employee relation matters.
- Perform exit interviews.
- Within range of knowledge, answer questions concerning state and federal labor laws.
- Perform complex and sensitive workplace investigations ensuring thorough and objective processes, findings, and conclusions are met.
- Provide recommendations on appropriate correction actions, discipline, or policy changes following investigations.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on various issues, such as grievances, disputes, disciplinary actions, layoffs, and terminations.
- Collaborate with Legal and leadership to resolve employee relations issues while ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures throughout organization.
- Draft and execute disciplinary letters and investigation reports.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws, including - specific employment regulations such as CFRA, PAGA and wage and hour laws to ensure organizational compliance.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Assist employees with Leaves of Absence.
- Assist Recruiting and Training & Development teams.
- In-office work 5 days a week at the assigned branch office.
- English speaking during an emergency and while performing job duties where there is a potential for an emergency. This does not apply to casual conversations between employees while not performing a job duty.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare special reports, as needed.
- Assist in miscellaneous duties within the department
- Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by complying with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Knowledge of State and Federal Labor Laws and requirements.
- Experience with UKG payroll/HRIS system.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), conflict resolution, interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Good organizational skills.
PAY RANGE:
- $70,000 - $75,000 Non-Exempt
WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- On site Monday - Friday in Buena Park, CA
- Scheduled shift will be 8am-5pm
- Cubicle environment within HR office

SUBORDINATE STAFF
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field, or professional Human Resources Certification.
- 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
