Overview
The RN Supervisor manages nursing and support staff activities and provides clinical expertise in the nursing process for Richland Primary Care and Behavioral Health. The RN Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Patient Care Manager and Director in the administrative duties of the clinic and providing leadership through collaboration with the healthcare team and maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. This position will participate in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities and provide input on standards of care to maintain quality patient outcomes. The RN Supervisor will also maintain the clinical competencies needed to provide direct patient care when the need arises. Qualifications Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); National Nursing Certification within 3 years - Varies; Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing, Work Experience: 5yrs of Nursing experience Responsibilities Manages daily nursing activities of patient Care Department(s) in conjunction with patient care manger and clinical director.Assists in development and review of department policies, procedures, standing orders, and competencies.Assists and serves on various project implementation and process improvement meetings as the Department liaison.Participates in development, planning and monitoring of fiscal budget(s).Assists manager with quality, service, and budgetary initiatives.Assist with yearly budgetary development.Assists staff in solving work related issues as needed. Is prepared with shift coverage options in case of unscheduled absences.Shares responsibility for personnel related duties that include interviewing, disciplinary actions, payroll reporting, scheduling paid leave, and enforcing rules and regulations. Monitors employee performance and ensures timely communications for the purpose of goal setting, performance evaluations, wages increases and continues personnel actions.Covers nursing shifts and performs direct patient care when there are staff shortages or high patient volume.Assists in new employee onboarding and orientation.Creates and supervises staff schedules, completes timecard review, and approval and processes paid leave requests from staff.Demonstrates a growing and applied knowledge base in areas of standards of care, patient care resources, references, protocol, pertinent drugs, significant lab values and procedures.Ensures equipment is maintained and kept in good working order and all documentation of repair and maintenance is retained.Serves on committees, task forces, and work groups on a voluntary and appointed basis both at the department and clinic level.Handles escalated customer service face-to-face contacts, calls, or correspondence and endorses all required tasks associated with the Carle Experience.Responsible for day to day operation of the departments Direct reports would include RN, LPN, Primary Lab and Radiology Ensure efficient and timely patient experience and care. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $36.78per hour - $63.26per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
