Overview
Microsoft Foundry is building the foundational platforms that power the next generation of intelligent agents and generative AI systems. WithinCoreAI, theFoundry Agents organizationis responsible for key ownership areas across theendtoendagent lifecycle:(a) Foundry Agents platformto deploy and run agents securely at enterprise scale with seamless integration with governed tools,(b) modelfinetuningto train and improve agentic performance, and(c) Foundry observabilityto generate insights from agentic traces and continuously evaluate and optimize agents. As a senior engineer within Foundry Agents, you will help build and evolvelargescale,cloudnativesystems that span the full lifecycle of advanced agentic applications - from secure enterprise deployment and governed tool integration, tofinetuningand training loops, to deep observability, evaluation, and optimization in production. Your work will directly shape how developers and enterprises build reliable, autonomous, andhighimpactAI agents. You willoperateat the intersection ofdistributed systems, AI infrastructure, and developer platforms, owning architectural decisions for complex systems that must meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, security, and compliance. This role requires deep technical judgment, strong systems thinking, and the ability to translate evolving customer, developer, and research needs into durable platform capabilities. Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Find additional benefits and pay information here: Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
