What to Expect
As a Senior Software Engineer on Tesla's Digital Experience team, you will lead the development and enhancement of vehicle fulfillment experience applications that power our vehicle delivery and registration processes. You will collaborate with the delivery and registration teams to implement sophisticated order orchestration systems and automate critical workflows in our fulfillment pipeline. This role supports Tesla's global vehicle fulfillment system and registration for vehicles, ensuring seamless customer experiences across all delivery channels. What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable vehicle fulfillment and registration applications that integrate with Contract Generation, Financing, and Invoicing systems, enabling automated order orchestration, streamlined fulfillment workflows, and real-time application across delivery channels for a seamless customer experience
  • Develop intelligent workflows leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI to enhance decision-making, automate fulfillment processes, and streamline document generation and analysis
  • Build robust data analytics pipelines to ingest and analyze vehicle data, registration trends, fulfillment metrics, and system performance, powering insights for strategic delivery experience improvements
  • Write high-quality, clean, maintainable, performant, and well-tested code, with a focus on senior-level ownership including code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentoring junior engineers
  • Create comprehensive unit and integration tests, partner with QA teams to ensure regression testing for new features, and drive quality assurance best practices
  • Monitor production system metrics, respond to alerts proactively, and lead troubleshooting efforts for live issues impacting pricing accuracy or performance
  • Analyze existing delivery applications for technical gaps, propose and implement improvements to enhance scalability, reliability, and integration with downstream systems
  • Communicate project updates, including changes in estimates, dependencies, and blockers, to stakeholders across Delivery, Finance, and engineering teams with clarity and timeliness
  • Utilize modern technologies such as React, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, MySQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Redis, GraphQL, Docker, and Kubernetes to deliver resilient, cloud-native systems that scale with Tesla's growing inventory and global operations

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, proof of exceptional skills in related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of related practical experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in full stack development
  • Experience writing code in programming languages like JavaScript, Python, Go or C#
  • Experience with microservices or service-oriented architecture
  • Expertise with databases, including MySQL for structured data management and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and analytics
  • Good unit testing and integration testing practices
  • Flexible and motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills with a positive attitude and a strong desire to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Familiarity with AI integration, including LLMs for tasks like generating pricing insights and agentic AI workflows for adaptive user experiences
  • Experience with JavaScript (ES5/6), HTML, CSS, and the React framework for building intuitive frontend interfaces
  • Experience in the automotive, energy, or ride-hailing industries preferred

    Expected Compensation
    $168,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
