Position: Japanese Bilingual HR Manager
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)
Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Can be Flexible)
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Direct Hire
OVERVIEW:
A global company is seeking a Japanese Bilingual HR Manager to lead and manage Human Resources functions across multiple group entities totaling approximately 60 employees. This is a hands-on role in which you will independently manage day-to-day HR operations while working with and receiving guidance from the HR consultant as needed. As the company continues to improve and streamline its HR processes, you will be expected to learn current workflows, identify areas for improvement, and propose practical solutions. You will work closely with management to implement these improvements and enhance overall efficiency. In this role, you will also contribute to ensuring compliance and fostering a positive and employee-friendly workplace.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and policy development.
Advanced English proficiency is required, with the ability to independently manage employee relations, employment law matters, and vendor communication; Japanese language skills are preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
Develop and maintain job descriptions aligned with FLSA classifications QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, including hands-on experience in payroll and benefits administration required; experience supporting multiple entities is a plus Language: Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (reading and writing required)
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience using HRIS systems
Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
