Job Summary The Data Center Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all on-site construction activities for large-scale, hyperscale data center projects. This role oversees field operations, labor coordination, safety compliance, quality assurance, and schedule execution to ensure all work is completed efficiently and in alignment with project goals. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, working closely with the Project Manager, field teams, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality installations while maintaining strict adherence to industry standards and safety requirements. This position requires a proactive leader with strong experience in structured cabling and data center construction environments. Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily field operations for structured cabling and low voltage installations within a hyperscale data center environment
Conduct daily stretch and flex meetings to reinforce safety expectations and communicate labor goals
Perform routine jobsite walks throughout the day to monitor safety, quality, and productivity, and address issues in real time
Oversee labor assignments, workforce productivity, and coordination of technicians, foremen, and subcontractors
Ensure all installation practices align with BICSI standards and industry best practices
Review project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to guide field execution
Track project milestones, identify schedule deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines
Collaborate with Project Leads to gather daily updates on production, constraints, and safety or quality concerns
Communicate progress, risks, and solutions to the Project Manager and key stakeholders
Approve daily time entries and verify accuracy against labor records, addressing discrepancies as needed
Complete and review daily reports with detailed documentation of progress, challenges, and cost impacts
Support financial tracking and forecasting through project management systems
Conduct weekly pre-planning to align labor, materials, and upcoming work activities
Enforce jobsite safety standards, conduct safety audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite environment
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 7 years of experience in structured cabling or low voltage installation
At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong knowledge of data center construction practices and structured cabling systems
Deep understanding of BICSI standards and installation guidelines
Experience with physical infrastructure including cable tray, ladder racks, fiber routing, and MDF/IDF buildouts
Ability to read, interpret, and redline construction drawings and documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Bluebeam, and Adobe
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and remain on foot for extended periods
OSHA 10 certification preferred; additional safety certifications are a plus
