Job Description
ECU Department of Dental Medicine is currently seeking a Research Assistant to assist with various aspects of this research project. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in genomic research, data management, and patient interaction. We are conducting a study to investigate whether specific genomic variants in the BRINP3 gene can help predict future risk of tooth loss. The goal is to identify biomarkers that may allow for more personalized dental care in rural populations.
Responsibilities:

  • Generate genotyping data from saliva samples.
  • Enter, manage, and analyze research data.
  • Assist with recruitment of study participants.
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions about project progress.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Qualifications:

  • Current Dental Student at ECU SoDM.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interest in genomic research and/or dental/periodontal health.
  • Experience with data entry and basic statistical analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with participants and team members.
