THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Lottery is seeking an experienced, energetic sales professional to serve a specific sales territory within the Philadelphia County area.

As a Lottery Sales Representative, you will provide product, guidance, and support to existing retailers while actively working with them to increase their sales. Your sales skills will be key for recruiting new retailers, educating them on the benefits of joining our retailer network, and providing strategies that will help them succeed. Best of all, you will be working for one of the most respected brands in Pennsylvania and on behalf of a very important mission: to generate funding to benefit older Pennsylvanians. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Lottery Sales Representative, you will support Lottery retailers across an assigned district by providing training, guidance, and promotional assistance. This role gives you the chance to build strong relationships while supporting the Lottery's mission. Your duties will include:

  • Lottery Promotion: Effectively communicate the value of Lottery products and detailed information about procedures and the products to business owners, prospective retailers, and customers
  • Retailer Recruitment: Canvas retail stores and other business types in your assigned geographical area to identify prospective retailers, assist with applications, and help retailers achieve compliance with accessibility and other lottery requirements
  • Retailer Support: Provide technical assistance and ongoing training in the lottery procedures, equipment, and promotional opportunities; motivate retailers to increase sales through proven strategies and fresh promotional activities
  • Field Operations: Visit stores and conduct reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong performance; interact and engage players at retailer events; and network with other sales representatives at retailer events
  • Technical skills: Navigate a web based portal proficiently on both PC and iPad, read and interpret sales data

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • During training, work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: This position is home headquartered, however you will be expected to report to the assigned area office on a weekly basis. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
  • Overtime may be required on a limited basis
  • This position will work and drive in all types of weather conditions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible sales or marketing work; or
  • Any equivalent experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must abide by the prohibition guidelines and refrain from gambling in Pennsylvania casinos, or any casino outside of Pennsylvania with the same owners.
  • This position will travel to cover Philadelphia County. The candidate must reside in Philadelphia County. Relocation is not an option.
  • You must have four or more years of sales experience.
  • You must have four or more years of customer service experience in a sales environment.
  • You must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
  • You must be able to perform essential job junctions.
