LOCATION: Hybrid in Glen Allen, VA - onsite Tues, Weds, and Thurs

HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week

**Impact You'll Make**

As a key contributor to the digital team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and quality of the client's online platforms. You will be at the forefront of content management, ensuring that all web and email communications are accurate, engaging, and meet the highest standards of accessibility and compliance. Your work will directly enhance the user experience, optimize content visibility, and support critical communication initiatives, directly contributing to the organization's reputation and digital success.

**Key Responsibilities**

* **Website Content Excellence:** Assist in updating and maintaining website content, design, and overall structure, ensuring all web pages are accurate, engaging, and current.

* **Digital Quality Assurance:** Proactively monitor, identify, and resolve technical errors, broken links, formatting issues, and bugs across digital platforms.

* **Pre-Deployment Validation:** Rigorously test website updates and new features prior to deployment to ensure full functionality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

* **Collaborative Enhancements:** Work closely with internal teams and external agencies on website redesigns and enhancements, bringing a critical eye to every detail.

* **Change Management:** Manage and maintain the website change log, meticulously documenting updates, enhancements, fixes, and release dates to ensure transparency and traceability.

* **SEO and Accessibility Champion:** Employ SEO best practices to optimize content visibility and performance, and monitor ADA accessibility performance to maintain WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance.

* **Brand and Usability Adherence:** Ensure all content adheres to brand standards, usability principles, and accessibility guidelines, providing a consistent and intuitive user experience.

* **Email Platform Transition Support:** Assist with migrating email content to a new marketing communications platform, ensuring a smooth and accurate transition.

* **Email Content Integrity:** Review, edit, and QA migrated email templates and content to ensure accuracy, formatting consistency, and brand alignment.

* **Stakeholder Coordination:** Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support testing and deployment of migrated email communications.

* **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with writers, designers, developers, marketing teams, and agency partners to achieve project goals.

* **Deadline Management:** Effectively manage multiple updates and priorities, consistently meeting deadlines and contract deliverables.

**Must-Have Qualifications**

* 3-5+ years of experience as a web editor, digital editor, or content specialist.

* Hands-on experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Kentico or similar).

* Strong editing, proofreading, and QA skills for web content.

* Working knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG).

* Experience monitoring site health, troubleshooting issues, and testing web updates.

* Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as a contractor.

**Nice-to-Have Qualifications**

* Experience supporting large, complex, or regulated websites.

* Familiarity with UX and information architecture best practices.

* Basic knowledge of analytics tools and performance monitoring.
