Position summary:

Responsible for managing parallel generation interconnection applications in the Black Hills Energy Colorado Electric service territory, both within the Renewable Energy Standard, net-metering and qualifying facility (QF) constructs. This position will be responsible for the administration of the community solar garden (CSG) program, to include management of the RFP process, operation and the subscription allocation process. Additionally, the role is responsible for supporting Renewable Energy Credit (REC) management and retirement, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance reporting, and alignment with regulatory and program requirements.

Pay Range: $66,950 - $100,500 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Essential Functions:
* Responsible for assisting the Program Manager of with all processes associated with Black Hills Energy's Renewable Energy Program for the Colorado electric service territory.
* Responsible for managing customer interconnection inquiries and the processing of all interconnection applications for Black Hills Energy's Renewable Energy Program.
* Responsible for leading the CSG program and related processes, including solicitations, contractor coordination, interconnect agreements and customer communications.
* Responsible for providing assistance in the preparation of all solicitations for proposals for the addition of large renewable resource projects to Black Hills Energy's system and facilitates the process for securing and evaluating such proposals.
* Partners with Regulatory personnel in the submittal of information to the Colorado PUC, including Black Hills Energy's RES plan and other required regulatory filings related to renewables.
* Responsible for providing assistance to achieve the business unit's overall compliance and reporting activities related to Colorado's Renewable Energy Standard.
* Responsible for continuing to streamline the interconnection process, as it applies to each electric service territory (CO, WY, and SD).
* Supports Renewable Energy Credit (REC) processes, ensuring proper documentation, portfolio integrity, and compliance with state renewable energy obligations.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Serve as the point of contact for all interconnection inquiries.
* Assist with other duties as directed.

What Is Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in engineering, data analytics, sustainability, business, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum of (3) three years of experience in electric utility operations.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of Black Hills Energy's Renewable Energy Programs, related tariffs and policies.
* Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and basic electric system operation.
* Effective project management skills, including planning and organization.
* Excellent interpersonal, team building and customer service skills.
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* A performance record that strongly reflects personal initiative and innovation.

What Is Desired:
* Working knowledge of renewable energy technologies, specifically those included in the Colorado statutory definition of renewable energy resources.
* Thorough understanding of Colorado's Renewable Energy Standard.
* Working knowledge of net-metering Colorado Statute and Rules
* Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and CIS+ systems.
