What you'll be doing...

Verizon's Corporate Systems Group (CSG) is transforming how we leverage technology across the business to unlock customer and employee experience, strengthen business partners' value realization, and build advanced processes & capability through product management and industry-leading platform partners.

In this pivotal role, you'll be critical in developing and implementing industry-leading practices, platforms, and systems-based program management. Your expertise will empower the business to achieve its strategic objectives, including the corporate data strategy and architecture. Proven ability to spearhead cultural and mindset shifts is essential for modernizing our large-scale organization. This role requires experience in delivering extremely large and complex process transformation/system implementations including process design, functional design, technical / solution architecture, human-centered design, environment & deployment strategies, operational readiness, and change management across multiple functions spanning the SDLC lifecycle. The ideal candidate for this role will be equal parts business & technical leader to be successful, with the ability to set rigorous technical/architectural standards whilst speaking the language of our business partners. Deep knowledge of transactional processes, data & reporting is essential as is deep experience delivering cross-functional ERP implementations. Focusing on driving the innovation agenda, this leader will work with internal & external industry leaders to shape world-class capabilities and enable continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Implement the most transformational programs aligned with North Star Architecture and investment roadmaps across Finance Planning and Enterprise Risk Management functions enabling frictionless end-to-end processes in Verizon.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and drive the North Star architecture for capabilities across SAAS, cloud, and internally hosted platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and other Finance products.

  • Drive the modernization of Integrated Planning processes, aligning them with internal systems and leveraging existing structures and capabilities.

  • Establish business/tech product roadmaps and best practices.

  • Utilize an enterprise-wide position to drive strategic alignment and coordination of cross-functional data build for cloud-based data strategies, enabling solution enablement, to maximize data quality, efficiency, and insight.

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data through the provision, control, and governance of corporate data for statutory and other critical processes (i.e., Financial planning, Cash Flow, Enterprise Cash management, Integrated Business Planning, Program Portfolio Management, Risk management).

  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of planning and accounting processes and systems implementation (Financial Planning, Cash Flow, Enterprise Cash management, Integrated Business Planning, Program Portfolio Management, Risk management)

  • Ability to help design and implement scenario-based planning

  • Strategizing: making strategic choices for the team and positioning the team for success. You will be known for your brand and thought leadership.

  • Leading: defining the organization's vision and managing resources. You will demonstrate managerial courage, and act as a role model by providing supportive, balanced, honest, constructive, and timely feedback.

  • Engaging in addressing employee needs and completing engagement action items. Understand and convey the distinct value proposition of oneself and the team.

  • Developing self: developing your professional skills and networking with leaders. Has mastered multiple areas of expertise and continues to refine and update one's knowledge and skill base.

  • Conducts regular status meetings to monitor project progress

  • Analyzes and implements corrective actions when progress deviates from the plan

  • Monitors the quality assurance, deliverable acceptance, and sign-off processes

  • Monitors and mitigates project risk

  • Maintains continuous communications with the program management office

  • Motivates and manages project team using effective communication and leadership

  • Identifies and organizes required external support (Verizon & Third Party)

  • Understanding/Defining Business Processes and integrated handoffs/dependencies

  • Effectively partners with the business and IT for successful implementations

  • Organizational Change Management oversight

  • Developing others: investing in your direct reports to build needed capabilities, educating them about Verizon, and partnering with them on their career path. Coaching team effectively to build high-quality deliverables. Cultivate expertise in others and is sought out as a mentor. You know your limits and pull in additional resources as appropriate. You will provide specific, actionable suggestions to improve performance.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Eight or more years of financial planning work experience.

  • Experience managing and influencing client relationships at the senior exec level; ability to present and interact with all levels of management.

  • Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to coach, mentor, and train others within Verizon; ability to educate key stakeholders; ability to lead cross-functional teams.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience with SAP or another large ERP platform with specialization in Finance- Program/project manager on several SAP implementations with large and diverse teams

  • 8 or more years of relevant systems and finance and/or supply chain experience

  • Experienced in taking a company forward in a fast-growth environment, providing insight for direction, and managing change effectively

  • Proven success managing ERP financial and supply chain applications

  • Proven success managing large, dynamic teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in the following SAP Modules (or comparable ERP modules) ECC: FICO, MM, SCM, SD, PS (Project Systems), BI/BO, AP, T&E, Professional Services, Accounts Receivable/Collections

  • Hands-on and pragmatic approach to business, processes, and user needs

  • Strong customer focus and ability to recognize the impact of decisions on end users

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with team members and external customers

  • Strong presentation skills to all levels of management; ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner

  • Ability to prioritize efforts and tasks in a high-volume and fast-paced environment

  • Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and/or Agile Methodology

Where you'll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $176,500.00 - $339,000.00.
