Security Officer Airport Swing Shift

As a Airport Security Officer - Unarmed Terminal Patrol in Kailua-Kona, HI, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the public, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. Position Type: Full Time - Afternoon

Pay Rate: $22.50 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $1.96. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
• 21+ years of age
• Have ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
• Ability to obtain AOA badge (Federal Background Check in ordinance with DOT requirements)

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, restricted access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations as assigned.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying credentials, observing activity, and following post instructions for government-related facilities.
• Support daily operations by documenting incidents, communicating with site contacts and/or first responders, and assisting with traffic or pedestrian direction when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
