POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Supervisor for Boeing Dreamlifter Operations at AES plays a critical working role in the day-to-day maintenance of specialized Airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE). This position is both supervisory and hands on responsible for leading a team of technicians while actively participating in mechanical troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures adherence to AES and Boeing safety, quality and operational standards, manages data integrity in the EAM/ERP system and supports customer expectations with a high level of responsiveness and technical expertise. Working under the direction of the Operation Manager, this role is pivotal to maintaining operational excellence and fleet readiness for Dreamlifter Operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned and are not limited to the following)
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians across two shifts ensuring compliance with company safety, quality and efficiency standards supporting Dreamlifter Operations.
- Perform hands-on mechanical duties, including diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on GSE equipment as operational needs demand.
- Manage the daily work schedule based on Dreamlifter operations, equipment availability and customer operational needs, assisting the Operations Manager with shop and ramp-side coordination.
- Ensure work area cleanliness, tool accountability and consistent application of 5S principles across shifts.
- Train and cross-train technicians, supporting workforce development and ensuring technical flexibility for Dreamlifter specific GSE.
- Support the Parts Administrator, ensuring Dreamlifter parts are documented accurately in ERP and inventory levels are proactively maintained.
- Maintain strong communication with Boeing personnel and customer representatives, providing timely updates on equipment status, repairs and operational readiness.
- Keep the direct manager informed of all relevant activities, providing high-detail reporting to manage Boeing expectations and accommodate changes to the scope of work.
- Timely review and closure of work orders, ensuring all labor hours, parts, comments, status and billable costs are accurately recorded and recovered.
- Manage data accuracy in EAM (equipment hours, work order status, inventory levels, equipment availability) specific to Dreamlifter operations.
- Report site activity performance indicators, proposing corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
- Lead assigned maintenance station projects, facility organization efforts, and operational improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5+years of related work experience, preferably in aviation or aerospace ground operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in troubleshooting GSE and specialized support equipment.
- Demonstrated shop floor experience with the ability to manage and maintain a leadership presence across multiple shifts.
- Strong leadership skills (leadership aptitude considered with appropriate training).
- Familiarity with 5S (or equivalent) organizational practices for shop floor operations.
- ERP experience preferred (EAM, Infor systems, EBIS, AssetWorksor comparable).
