About the Team

TechSource is seeking a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical aircraft system certification and testing efforts for the U.S. Air Force. This role contributes to ensuring the safety, performance, and compliance of advanced aircraft systems through rigorous requirements engineering and integrated test support in a highly structured, defense-oriented environment.

About this Role

The Systems Engineer (Entry/Mid) will provide integrated systems and test engineering support to certify new and modified aircraft systems. This role focuses on requirements development, validation, traceability, and verification to ensure accurate and reliable test design and execution. You will work closely with Air Force program leadership, hardware and software developers, and flight test engineers to ensure requirements are properly defined, decomposed, and validated throughout the test planning and reporting lifecycle. This position also serves as a liaison between the System Program Office and aircraft test leadership, supporting coordination and alignment across technical teams. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of requirements verification processes, ensuring clear acceptance criteria and complete, high-quality technical artifacts. Your work will directly support the identification of system performance parameters and the accurate determination of pass/fail test conditions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support certification of aircraft systems by validating and verifying system and test requirements.
  • Analyze, decompose, and trace system requirements to ensure alignment with test objectives.
  • Develop and maintain requirements documentation supporting test design and planning activities.
  • Identify gaps, ambiguities, or missing requirements and drive resolution in alignment with project schedules.
  • Establish and validate acceptance criteria for system and test requirements.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and traceability of technical artifacts and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Air Force program leads, software and hardware engineers, and flight test teams.
  • Support development of requirements verification processes and methodologies.
  • Define system interfaces and performance parameters to support test execution and evaluation.
  • Act as a liaison between System Program Office stakeholders and aircraft test directors.
  • Bachelor's Degree is Systems Engineering or requirements engineering related field
  • Secret Clearance; Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Knowledge and/or experience in; the process of defining, documenting, verifying, and maintaining requirements supporting the test design and planning process
  • Ability to analyze, and provide traceability and decomposition of system requirements
  • Ability to determine undefined or missing requirements and manage completion of requirements according to a project schedule
  • Establish acceptance test criteria; verifies appropriateness; ensures completeness of artifacts and content
  • Ability to work within a professional, military-oriented environment required


Desired Qualifications


  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Developmental and/or Operational Test and Evaluation.
  • Knowledge of system design and/or experimental test operations a plus
  • DAU Test Evaluation Certification, Level I or II, or test industry equivalent
