The Director of Football Operations oversees the daily management and behind-the-scenes logistics of a Division I football program, ensuring smooth, efficient operations in a complex and fast-paced environment. This role leads annual planning and program administration while developing and managing an academic support plan for student-athletes in collaboration with campus academic resources. Responsibilities include coordinating team schedules and key operational timelines, supporting academic advising and progress tracking, and driving continuous improvement across football operations to promote student-athlete success on and off the field. Job Duties
- Plan and execute a twelve month vision of calendar focused on recruiting, player workouts, practice, team travel, academics and NCAA dead periods. This includes updating and managing the Teamworks calendar and program so staff & players have the most updated calendar. -%-Essential,
- Responsible for the management and planning of all football team travel. This includes negotiating hotel contracts, bus contracts and charter aircraft contracts. In-season this position will manage all hotel communication including rooming lists, team meals and meeting space. This position also manages communication with vendors for meals and the FAA for any team flight manifests. -%-Essential,
- Monitor NCAA rules and make sure all staff are in compliance. This includes recruiting activity, NCAA dead periods, contact periods and contacts. Work closely with the compliance department to complete CARA logs on a weekly basis.-%-Essential,
- Coordination and planning of Unofficial and Official visits with items such as hotel blocks, van rentals, meal and venue reservations and NCAA compliance related paperwork. -%-Essential,
- Management of all incoming freshman on-boarding. This includes medical paperwork, RLO housing coordination, class scheduling and approval through the NCAA Eligibility Center.-%-Essential,
- Responsible for the management of practice filming and student worker coordination at practice. This includes filming multiple angles of practice and hiring and managing work-study students. -%-Essential,
- Hire and manage the work-study student program. Students will help in-office, at practice and with video breakdown.-%-Essential,
- Work closely with the Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator to manage the logistics associated with summer camps. -%-Essential,
- Work closely with accounts payable to finalize all fall tuition bills prior to team arrival for pre-season camp in August. -%-Essential,
- Maintain strong relationships across campus and among different departments around campus.-%-Essential,
- Work closely with the Head Coach, business office and DAF to monitor team football budget and fundraising goals.-%-Essential,
- Strategize, plan, and coordinate with scholar athletes on their academic course work and develop a four year plan.-%-Essential,
- Develop a long term scheduling strategy, planning non-conference opponents for future years, keeping in mind the financial and institutional fit for Davidson College and Davidson Football.-%-Essential
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of one year administration experience preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience in college athletics administration, working knowledge of NCAA rules.
- Strong skills in office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and ARMS
- Ability to multitask and manage time well.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Ability to make independent decisions in changing environment
- Knowledge of Division I athletics, the process of recruiting and NCAA rules
- Required to take and pass the NCAA recruiting test each year.
