Job Summary

This Contracts Specialist I role provides administrative and transactional contract support for the Artillery Systems Business Unit across U.S. Government, OTA, and international contracting activities. This role supports proposal development, contract documentation, file maintenance, tracking, and coordination of routine contract actions under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with proposal submissions, maintaining contract records, supporting modifications, and coordinating with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Program teams. The position enables efficient execution, strengthens compliance, and allows senior leadership to focus on negotiation, risk management, and strategic execution.

Essential Functions

  • Develops, prepares, and administers contracts, bids, and proposals that meet specifications and comply with all policies and regulations.
  • Supports or participates in contract negotiations with suppliers, partners, or customers.
  • Reviews contract terms to identify any potential risk or compliance issues.
  • Examines supporting materials and agreement documents related to bids or contracts and provides guidance.
  • Acts as liaison between the organization and subcontractors to implement the contracts.
  • Maintains contract records used to ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 0-3 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Supply chain, Politicial Science, International Business, Finance or Business preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Demonstrated attention to detail, written communication skills, and willingness to learn regulatory and compliance-driven processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in structured environment.
  • Defense or government environment preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge or experience with trade compliance regulations (ITAR, EAR, or customs regulations), including the ability to support adherence to export/import control requirements



Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.


Travel Requirements

No or very little travel likely.
