Overview
The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director of Player Personnel - Wrestling for Athletics - Facilities & Operations. This position is under the direct supervision of the Head Coach - Wrestling The Director of Player Personnel and will assist in the administration and coordination of the assigned intercollegiate wrestling program.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Assist in scouting efforts and evaluating potential recruits; build relationships with top recruits and families from initial contact through commitment.
  • Assist with roster construction by identifying elite talent and analyzing market value to build a deep, competitive roster optimized for peak performance across every position.
  • Collaborate with Rutgers Wrestling staff for on-campus visits and evaluate transfer portal prospects, including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) value assessments.
  • Build relationships with college student-athletes, coaches, agents, and other industry professionals.
  • Work with cap manager to track and allocate house settlement resources to student athletes.
  • Lead student-athlete brand strategy in alignment with Rutgers identity.
  • Develop and implement a NIL strategy for the team, helping players maximize their NIL opportunities; ensure that players meet and fulfill their NIL commitments.
  • Manage relationships with agents, advisors, collectives, and NIL partners; assist in player negotiations and signing.
  • Assist with overseeing the team's roster, managing player development, and ensuring a balanced and cohesive team.
  • Help manage the roster to meet NCAA and conference regulations as needed.
  • Collaborate on revenue share strategies and NIL vision planning.

Salary Details $25.00/hourly

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.


Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Three to five years experience in fundraising, college athletics (Division 1), and compliance.
