How You Will Make an Impact

  • Subject matter procurement and supply expert for fuel oil, petroleum products, and natural gas markets
  • Identifies, develops, and maintains relationships with suppliers from a variety of usual (oil refiners, traders) and unusual sources (petrochemical, other)
  • Conducts commercial negotiations and business development activities
  • Develop short- and long-term planning and strategies for raw material acquisition and logistics.
  • Integral leading member of business team with two direct reports
  • Directs, develops and executes strategies for the sourcing, procurement and logistics of feedstock and natural gas for manufacturing in the Americas Region (US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Columbia). Ensures cost-effective purchases and uninterrupted supply, while understanding and minimizing the net risk exposure of the business to macro feedstock prices.
  • Serves as the senior role interfacing with all applicable suppliers across the region. Negotiates with major carbon black feedstock suppliers, as required. Assesses, develops, negotiates, and executes new feedstock supply chains and strategic alliances with key suppliers.
  • Sets the short- and long-term raw material purchasing strategy including developing sourcing partnerships, building supplier relationships, determining asset needs, negotiating contracts, and optimizing purchasing decisions that are aligned with the overall business strategy. In addition, this role is a key member of the global feedstock purchasing team, working across regions to ensure that regional purchases are aligned with the global needs of the business.
  • Directs market analysis for all historical and potential future commodity markets. Assesses the risk, volume, quality, performance and total delivery cost requirements.
  • Develops and implements global raw material cost reduction strategies addressing cost, logistics cost, quality and carbon black yield produced. Executes projects leading to specific reductions in raw material costs contributing to business' EBITDA performance.
  • Develops the carbon black feedstock cost assumptions for each manufacturing site for the annual budget. Directs development of monthly raw material cost forecasts supporting each business' financial forecast.
  • Provides leadership and guidance and manages several direct reports. Effectively practices Performance Based Management by communication, coaching, and developing employees. Leads activities improving the commercial capabilities of the organization.
  • Develops and improves processes, systems, and performance management reporting for raw material purchasing activities. Leads efforts to improve and enhance purchasing and reporting systems.
  • Collaborates, influences, and communicates effectively with key Legal staff on contract management and execution; collaborates with SH&E to ensure safety and compliance of raw materials purchased and logistics methods and suppliers chosen.
  • Manages operations and logistics support cost effective delivery of Feedstock, ensure safe delivery of purchased goods meeting all quality and product specific needs to support the business.

What You Will Bring to Cabot:

  • More than 10 years in Procurement and/or Commercial experience with proven track record of successfully negotiating significant $50M+ supply and trade contracts
  • A minimum of 5 years' petroleum or petrochemical industry experience in refining, downstream operation, or marketing
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in related field; Master's degree (MBA) preferred
  • Expert knowledge of global petroleum and bunkers supply
  • Working knowledge of oil index pricing basis; understanding of fuel blending, economics, and refining markets
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced exciting environment with multiple projects and priorities
  • Negotiation and analytical skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and PowerBi

Requires up to 20-30% travel to interface with strategic suppliers, conferences, and manufacturing sites

  • The pay range for this role is from $161,500 - $234,200. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skill, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on your performance and company performance.
