Fleet Operations Coordinator Location: Toledo, OH (On-site) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-9 months) Workplace Type: On-site Pay Rate: $19-$26/hour (with conversion potential of $60K-$70K annually) Position Overview We are looking for a Fleet Operations Coordinator to support daily fleet operations for a large, regional commercial vehicle program. This is a hands-on, on-site position ideal for someone familiar with fleet/rental operations, logistics coordination, or automotive service environments. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing vehicle readiness, managing maintenance processes, working directly with vendors, and supporting customers with day-to-day fleet needs. You'll play a critical part in ensuring vehicles are safe, clean, optimized, and ready for deployment-while also identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities * Perform detailed pre- and post-service inspections for fleet vehicles * Manage daily fleet readiness, including refueling, cleaning, and light detailing * Schedule and coordinate mechanical and body repairs with trusted third-party vendors * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, vendor work, and vehicle status * Serve as an on-site liaison for customers, vendors, and fleet personnel * Identify issues or inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving or process improvements * Support fleet operations across multiple locations as needed * Ensure vehicles are returned in proper operating condition and documented accordingly * Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams Qualifications Required: * High School diploma or GED * 1-2 years' experience working with fleet vehicles, automotive rentals, maintenance, or operations * Ability to walk, stand, and be active for up to 8 hours per day * Valid driver's license * Ability to work some weekends and select holidays * Strong customer service mindset Preferred: * BA/BS in Business, Operations, or a related field * 2-5 years of customer service or B2B account experience * Experience in operations, logistics, terminal/branch operations, or fleet support roles * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ideal Backgrounds Candidates coming from one or more of the following areas tend to excel in this role: * Fleet operations / fleet coordinator * Vehicle rental agencies (branch ops, management trainee, shift lead) * Automotive service or dealership service coordination * Logistics or operations support * Terminal/branch management or supervisor-level backgrounds Why This Role? * Strong potential to convert into a permanent, long-term career * Opportunity to work closely with customers and vendors * Hands-on environment with autonomy and impact * Exposure to large-scale fleet operations and process improvement * Supportive culture focused on service excellence Work Location Toledo, OH (On-site fleet operations supporting regional customer location) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH.
